Gopala Poduval Lakshmi Trust (GPL Trust) is a not-a-profit entity initiated by Dr. K. G. Raveendran in memory of his father late. Vaidya Gopala Poduval, a renowed physician who was a disciple of Kuttancheri tradition and his mother late Smt Lakshmi. GPL Trust is based at Ottapalam, in the district of Palakkad, Kerala. The shilanyas (stonelaying) of GPL Trust was the first step in fulfilling his vision. When he embarked his journey, his armementorium had nothing but the faith and admiration for Bharatheeya sastras. Currently himself and his son Dr. Abhiram Raveendran continue to serve the sufferings.
VISION AND MISSION OF GPL
Health is what which equips someone to excel in one’s karma. As defined by WHO, it should be attained at physical, mental, social and spiritual dimension. Ayurveda is a tool from Vedas for the same. Ayurveda – The Indian IKIGAI, known as the 5 th veda should be protected, as it has the potential not only as a health science but a key to successful India. To uphold Ayurveda along with other Bharatheeya sastras by associating with astrology, vaastu vidhya, yoga, classical music, dance etc to explore its possible contributions to health sector and upbring a global platform for same at its echt and to vindicate it from merely being seen as wellness, is its veracious vision.
Ayurveda rooted in panchabhouthika sidhantha needs its own research methodology. So a university exclusively dealing Indian Ayurveda, undertaking education and research is a mission of GPL. Uphold authentic Ayurveda by engaging in quality medicine production and thus pave way to associate with agriculture and animal husbandry is also one of its prime mission
