GPL TRUST - Aimed at upholding and globalising authentic Ayurveda and preserve Bharatheeya sastras (Indian)
Health is what which equips someone to excel in one’s karma. As defined by WHO, it should be attained at physical, mental, social and spiritual dimension. Ayurveda is a tool from Vedas for the same. To uphold and take it around the globe along with other Bharatheeya sastras at its echt and to vindicate it from merely being seen as wellness is its veracious vision.
Gopala Poduval Lakshmi Trust (GPL Trust) is a not-a-profit entity initiated by Dr. K. G. Raveendran in memory of his father late. Vaidya Gopala Poduval, a renowed physician who was a disciple of Kuttancheri tradition and his mother late Smt Lakshmi. GPL Trust is based at Ottapalam, in the district of Palakkad, Kerala. It intends to:
- Uphold authentic ayurveda sastra for cure and prevention of disease.
- Upbring ayurvedic research methodology and tools and an exclusive university for its undertaking.
- Associate with other sastras like astrology, vastu vidya, yoga, music etc and provide a global platform for the same.
At present an Ayurvedic clinic running under the trust, serves the needy with true potency of Ayurveda through the expertise of Dr. K.G. Raveendran and his son Dr. Abhiram. R and showcases the clinical possibilities of Ayurveda. In span of its expansion the trust aims to comprise:
Manufacturing unit
Hospital and Research centre
School – priorotizing Sanskrit and other Bharatheeya sastras
Organic farming
We feel this creation of an authentic Ayurveda care centre, backed with research and training and upbringing Indic sastras like astrology, vastu vidya etc will bring the globe to India seeking its true potential.

UPHOLDING AUTHENTIC AYURVEDA
- Prime importance to good quality medicine- Organic production of raw materials, including ghee and milk and thus associating with agriculture and animal husbandry
- Upbring a manufacturing unit including rasa shala and prepare medicine as per shastra.
- Upbring a hospital facility for authentic conduction of treatment and take Ayurveda primarily as a curative medicine, also as a collaborative medicine, as deemed necessary, to western medicine and take Ayurveda beyond the popular palliative and wellness.
AYURVEDA UNIVERSITY
- Undertaking Ayurvedic research as per modern research methodologies are unethical and results are often misguiding. Ayurveda shastra should be learned based on its own fundamentals and so pave way to design its unique research methodology aligning with contemporary dimensions.
- Its base should be streamlined since childhood through initiation of a school teaching Sanskrit and other Bharatheeya sastras
